The Boston Friends of CASA has been chosen as a Holiday Prudential Tower Lighting Partner for the 31 Nights of Lights 2010. On Saturday, December 18, 2010, The Friends will "light the tower" at The Prudential Center. Save the date and stay tuned for upcoming details on the fabulous festivities!

Volunteers and board members enjoyed a lunch and presentation of the Francis G. Poitrast award to Sarah Gindel while learning more about the Department of Children and Families by hearing from guest speaker Commissioner, Angelo McClain.

CASA Rocks the House
This event was held on Saturday November 10, 2007 at Machine Nightclub on Bolyston Street in Boston. The event featured live music by the band "Pipeline" (www.myspace.com/pipelinerock), a performance by the Boston College Step Squad and DJ Music. A raffle and silent auction were held and all proceeds benefited Friends of CASA Inc.

Step Up for CASA
This event was held on Saturday October 27, 2007 at "The Rat" at Lyons Hall on the Boston College campus. Board member Alonzo Portlock addressed an audience of over 200 and provided an overview of the CASA program. Alonzo also spoke one-on-one with a number of students about the Boston CASA program and recruited volunteers. The event featured live performances by the dance group Synergy, R&B singing by Leslie Fletcher, David Altenor, Amaany Clarke & Harold Hinds, a performance by the African dance group Patu, dancing by Phaymus, and stepping by the Boston College Step Squad.

Celebration of Children
This event held on Thursday, September 28, 2006 at the Lenox Hotel in Boston included a reception and a live and silent auction that benefited Friends of CASA. The event honored Jack Williams of Channel 4, WBZ TV. Jack received the Judge Francis Poitrast Award for his twenty-five years of work with Wednesday's Child. Margaret Coulombe, CASA volunteer. Margaret was recognized as Volunteer of the Year. Sandra Mahoney, DSS Family Resource Worker. Sandra received the distinguished Service Award.
